Capitán Irregular en La Isla de Cockatoo (parte uno) (aventura 4)
Hello everyone and welcome to my Captain Irregular thread. This is the Captain's fourth "adventure".
And did I hear you say that you have no idea who Captain Irregular is? Well let me introduce you to The Captain! link text
And please don't be nervous about posting thinking that your Spanish or English is not up to scratch - jump right in with both feet! Many of us here are still taking fairy-steps (Spanish-wise that is) and the idea is that you "have a go" get corrected, possibly learn something for the future; but most of all have fun!
And the rules of my thread.. No more than two sentences. Both in Spanish and English and no translators to be used under any circumstances.
I will moderate any English used and Mariana will moderate any Spanish. I wanted to especially thank Kiwi-Girl for moderating the last two adventures. Her corrections and explanations were considered and very understandable - thank you so much Kiwi-Girl!
And although it probably seems my threads are somewhat frivolous, the paths they represent in my Spanish language journey are not. To moderate a thread is hard work and time consuming for moderators. Please re-visit your post and make any corrections Mariana has suggested.
Cockatoo Island, Sydney Harbour is a disused dockyard. Now it is a favourite place for Sydneysiders to celebrate New Year's Eve. Not long after the arrival of Europeans in Sydney Town, Cockatoo Island became a prison island for escaped convicts. Only one person is said to have escaped from the prison Island "Captain Thunderbolt". The next two "adventures (4 and 5) of Captain Irregular will take place on this island. Because I need to post four photographs for adventure 4 I need a new "window". Read on my friends!

El Capitán tuvo planes a reunirse con sus amigos en La Isla de Cockatoo para celebrar la Nocheviaja de 2011.
Más de una media hora El Capitán esperó pacientemente cerca de los torceros de metales.
Más de una hora El Capitán esperó pacientemente en el taller de las turbinas.
Más de dos horas El Capitán esperó pacientemente adentro de túnel número 1.
Y sí, más de tres horas El Capitán esperó pacientemente en frente de la Dársena de Sutherland. Pero tristemente no encontró a sus amigos, y sí, ahora El Capitán está más rojo que un cangrejo.
(The Capitan had had plans to meet up with his friends on the island to celebrate New Year's Eve, 2011. For more than half an hour the Captain waited patiently at the metal benders. For more than more than an hour the Captain waited patiently at the turbine shed. For more than two hours the Captain waited patiently inside the number 1 tunnel. And for three hours the Captain waited patiently in front of the Sutherland Dock but sadly his friends were nowhere to be seen. And yes now he's terribly sunburnt. Perhaps you have some theories on what might have become of the Captain's friends? )
No tengo ni idea qué ocurrieron con los amigos del Capitan. Quizas estén equivocados acerca del día. I don't have any idea what happened with the Captain's friends. Perhaps they are mistaken about the day. I heard that the Island of Samoa changed it's time zone and it lost Friday. This action could have made those men very confused and now they think that today is Friday and tomorrow is going to be New Years Day. I'm sure that they are going to come soon. Wait a little more.
Es muy sencillo lo que pasó con tus amigos, Capitán. Subieron al ferry para cruzar a la isla, pero apenas habían alejádose del embarcadero cuando los asaltó una banda de piratas feroces! Éstos abordaron al ferry desde su yate y lo capturaron. Ahora mismo tus amigos están ocupados con organizar un motín contra los piratas, así que parece, Capitán, que vas a tener que esperar un poco más.
What happened to your friends is very simple, Captain. They got on the ferry to cross over to the Island, but they had hardly drawn away from the jetty when a band of ferocious pirates attacked! The pirates boarded from their yacht and captured the ferry. Right now your friends are busy organizing a mutiny against them, so it seems, Captain, that you're going to have to wait a little longer.

I'm sorry, but a two-sentence limit is really impossible in a game this fun! 
El Capitán nunca había celebrado la Nochevieja en La Isla de Cockatoo pero sus amigos hubieron visto los fuegos artificiales del campamento de isla muchas veces. Eran allí ahora disfrutando una grande barbacoa y al atardecer comenzaron a preguntarse si su amigo llegaría en tiempo para la celebración.
The Captain had never celebrated New Year´s Eve on Cockataoo Island but his friends had seen the fireworks from the island´s campground many times. They were there now enjoying a great barbecue and at sunset they began to wonder if their friend would arrive in time for the festivities.
