What is the difference between rezar, rogar and orar?

rezar is to pray, could to be to literarally pray or to pray that something happens, "rezo para algo pase"
orar means to pray as well. One of my Mexican friends who is an evangelical Christian told me that they use "rezar" but Catholics use "orar"
Rogar can mean to pray but it mainly means to beg; Te ruego no hacerlo.
