Uvas a las doce

Question

Buenas. Hoy recibi una palabra de dia: "reloj". A pesar de que (pasa a menudo ultimos meses) en el ejemplo no figuro una palabra, una frase me puso a dudar. La frase dice, que los espanoles comen 12 uvas a las doce de Noche Vieja. Y yo pense que en nochebuena (24 de diciembre). Pues, como es? Alguien sabe? HM

We do the tradition of eating of 12 grapes at the stroke of midnight (starting el año nuevo) and they must be eaten within the 12 strokes of the grandfather clock in my father in law's house to have the "magical" effect.

Las doce uvas es una tradición de origen español y extendida a otros países hispanoamericanos como México y Venezuela que consiste en comerse 12 uvas, una por cada campanada a las 12 de la noche del 31 de diciembre (Nochevieja).
