Siete preguntas sobre el texto.
El día 6 de mayo llegó a la facultad un grupo de profesores hispanohablantes a dictarnos conferencias sobre diversos temas.Desde entonces tuvimos unas semanas muy intensas. Asistieron al cursillo todos los compañeros del tercer y cuarto curso,además de los del posgrado. Yo,junto con una veintena del primer y segundo curso también quise ir a asistir. Como tengo un vocabulario todavía muy limitado, encontré muchas dificultades y confundí las palabras. Apenas entendí las explicaciones, pero preferí ir. Por lo menos fue un buen ejercicio para el oído.
Claro, los compañeros de cursos superiores pudieron comprender mucho más que nosotros. Algunos incluso discutieron con los profesores extranjeros. Y eso les gustó mucho. Empezaron a preguntar más en cada una de las conferencias. Fue muy interesante verlos discutir. No pude entender muchas cosas, pero me pareció un buen ejercicio que nos convenía.
Tengo algunas preguntas. 1.. Además de los del posgrado. What the LOS stand for here? Estudiantes del tercer y cuarto cursos? Or posgrado?
2..Yo, junto con una veintena del primer y segundo curso . aquí no sólo yo , pero con veintena estudiantes, pero por que es quise y no quisimos?
3..eso leg gustó. Quién es les aqui? profesores extranjeros? Pero porque es gustó pero not gustaron? Whose action is it?
4.Como tengo un vocabulario , Can I say porque instead of Como?
5.Why it´s discutir? It´s after verlos, why it´s infi? Why not P.P.?
6.Cada una de las conferencias. las conferencias is plural, but why it´s cada una? Singular?

1) LOS stands for los compañeros because it is the plural masculine noun mentioned previously in the same sentence.
2) You said yo, and then used "junto con una veintena del primer y segundo curso", almost as an appositive. So, yo takes the form of the verb here. If you were to say we then it would be quisimos.
3) Les is a pronoun which refers to them or you-all (Formal). So it refers to the foreign professors. The verb is conjugated according to the subject, which is third person form. Here is a website that clarifies Indirect Object Pronouns.

4) Yes, you can use porque, but is better to start the sentence with como. In English, normally, teachers forbid students from starting a sentence with because. I am not sure if this is a no-no in Spanish though.
5) Verlos is a reflexive verb, so technically it is the same as saying los vi (I saw them). So, this is conjugated. And after the conjugated verb, you have put the unconjugated verb, discutir.
6) This sentence means, "Each one of the conferences". This is just the way cada works.
7) This means that "I could not understand much, but I thought that it was a good exercise that suited my purpose." Basically, it helped you practice your Spanish.

Les "gustó" (a ellos les gustó).
A mi me gustó.
A ella le gustó.
A ellos les gustó.
A nosotros nos gustó.
But why it´s gustó??? Whose action is gustar here? Gustó is 3rd person singular. So, here, whose action is it?
- Yeah, I think it's ambiguous, but yes it is possible that it pleased the visiting teachers.
Also, the form "gusto" is possible. You can say for example "te gusto" - do I please you (do you like me) or les gusto (I please them/they like me).
However in this case, it is definitely a case of a missing accent because "y eso les gustó mucho" makes perfect sense and "y eso les gusto mucho" doesn't make sense at all.
In my book, it´s les gusto mucho, not gustó, without accent.
And the translation is, The teachers are very happy. So, I am confused now.
Los del posgrado is those people from the posgrado, i.e the postgraduate students.
Here I think he only wants to say that he wanted to go...like in English. I, together with other students wanted to attend.
The sentence should be "Y eso les gustó mucho. In English "and that pleased them a lot." It's ambiguous, did it please the postgraduate students or the visiting teachers? I think it probably pleased the postgraduate students.
