In Spanish 1 - lesson 1.3 - Food and Articles the flashcards say "el agua", but agua ends in an "a" which is feminine, so shouldn't "el agua" be la agua?

yes agua is femenine but just for its first letter of " agua & last letter of "la" which is difficult to pronounce & would sounds the same as lagua!!

so se escribe ----> " el agua" no la agua pero cuidate que se dice el agua fría

just like el águila, el hada ...
