"Amelia lived because Eagan died but Eagan isn't completely gone."

Question

So I am reading this book and a girl named Amelia has a bad heart and she needs another heart.There is another girl named Eagan and she has a perfect,good, and heathly heart the Amelia needs. Eagan dies and Amelia gets her heart transplant and her heart gets switched out and she now has Eagan's heart. So on the back of the book it says "Amelia lived because Eagan died but Eagan isn't completely gone."

It's much more likely that the blurb is simply referring to the fact that his heart is still functioning (in Amelia). Many people seem to have trouble with the idea that the heart is simply a muscle and insist on attributing personality to it.

Amelia has both a physical part and a non-phyiscal part of Eagan -- i.e. her heart and therefore a part of her soul -- which carries on, even though Eagan has passed away.

It is a most unselfish act to donate a heart to someone who needs one to live. Eagan's friends, parents, etc. would probably say "Even though she's not physically here anymore, part of her soul/spirit/whatever lives on via Amelia."

"Aúnque el cuerpo fisicál de Eagan había muerto, el alma de Eagan permanecerá por Amelia -- adentro del su corazón nuevo."

"Even though Eagan died, Eagan's soul will always be here with Amelia -- inside her new heart."

That's my interpretation, at least

It is probably about ghosts. Even though Eagan died, she is still around as a ghost, or something similar. Quizá la historia tiene fantasmas. Aunque Eagan murió, todavía está en el mundo como la fantasma, or algo igualmente.
