Cost containment

Cost containment

Hola! I'm translating this sentence and stuck on the "cost containment" part. It's kind of an awkward phrase in English anyway, so maybe that is part of my problem here.

"He is also concerned about cost containment"

"él también le preocupa ...controlar los costos"? that sounds totally wrong. please help! smile

The Spanish word for "containment" is "contención". The English term "cost containment" translates pretty directly to Spanish a "contención de coste". An internet search for the term "contención de coste" yields enough 'hits' in the proper context to satisfy me that "cost containment" = "contención de coste".

I buy that. The verb is contener = contain. Good job. - gringojrf, Dec 28, 2011

Yep, I tend to agree with Gringo, along the lines of "expense control" =>

control de gastos, control del gasto, control de costos, control de los costos, control de costes

A cost-containment provision would be una estipulación de control de costos smile

Tambien el esta preocupado con controlar de gastos.

Also he is worried about controlling expenses.

Maybe this helps.
