Divertida or divertido ?

I just came across this in an exercise { La moto es menos divertido que el avión. }

This should be divertida shouldn't it? The masculine version registered as correct, but I am convinced it should be the feminine version, right or wrong? Or is it just the article in these exceptions that must agree, while the adjectives do not?

The following is a guess based on my often incorrect understanding of Spanish grammar:

The base sentence is:

La moto es divertida.

and extending it to

La moto es menos divertida que el avión.

does not change the adjective.

menos ends in an o

Not that it really matters, but menos ends in an s.

exactly and I am convinced this person doesn't have a clue what they are talking about! - 9148d71697, Dec 28, 2011
And (not that it really matters but) "menos" is an adverb and, thus, totally irrelevant to the gender of nearby nouns and adjectives. - samdie, Dec 28, 2011

delete-already answered.

Probably just an oversight. Moto is short for motocicleta and is feminine so the adjective would have to be also.

If the exercise is one from this site, you might want to note the error using the Feedback form and mention exactly where you encountered it.

but the adjective has to agree with the noun doesn't it? what does the adverb menos have to do with it? - 9148d71697, Dec 28, 2011
