These are legendary cars and were very easy to maintain, perhaps easier to fix than a Volkswagen. Very low gas consumption and they just didn't wear out.
Young people today probably find it hard to imagine a world where things were fixable. My generation grew up in a world where, if something stopped working, you opened it up and tinkered with the insides, often clockwork, certainly nuts and bolts and viola! you made it work again. Cars and motorbikes were like that too. No "black-boxes", no impenetrable silicon chips. You could actually open up and identify where something had gone wrong and improvise or buy a part to repair it.
This was what was wonderful about the SEAT 600. If you were a reasonably intelligent being you could be confident that if the car broke down you could probably fix it.
By the end of the sixties numerous young people inherited the now, perhaps 20 year old 600 and learned to drive in it and, incidentally how to fix it.
I've driven through streams in the Pyrenees in these cars. They are wonderful, these days there are clubs dedicated to the old 600
I like'em ![]()
El Seat 600 was a very small car, so I guess they are referring to it being very uncomfortable on the road![]()

I am not quite sure if I translated your question right, but SEAT 600 is the SEAT car from the 50s. Since there's road mentioned, probably the car is being referred to in the story. It was released in Spain as SEAT and some other countries as FIAT (may seem familiar?)
