¿Qué significa "del aire"?

In a song by de Falla, the phrase "No sabes lo que cuesta, 'del aire'" appears. The song is about disappointment in love. Is "del aire" "from the air", literally or "scram" as one dictionary states, or "Have mercy"?

Thank you!

Just by itself, "del aire" could mean "from the air". However, apparently there is some debate as to what this song can possibly mean. It is a very abstract piece of poetry.

Here is an essay written about it, if it helps you any.
