Improvised Chat , why don't you join us next time?
It is two AM for me, it was three AM for Ianta and lovely...and we still hung in there, jeeeeeeez, that was a really funny chat![]()
This was a chat completely held in Spanish
Special thanks to Vicente, who is learning English and hung in there till the end!
I said this before and I am saying it again: if you are online you will be added, so just connect!!
Today it was Paul, Ianta, Chris, Vicente, lovely, Gary , Lucie and me;)
Special guest: Erica, but she didn't say anything , but the next time she will![]()
We talked about our jobs, Christmas, very informal.
Gary said he had no less than three villages at home
, now ladies and gentlemen, that must be one large home I guess![]()
Ianta and lovely, MAJOR WOW, the best accents on skype I have heard so far Ianta said it was the first time she actually spoke Spanish, I did not believe her, trust me, it simply can't be true jejeje, her Spanish is too good for that![]()
Lucie told us about her horses and her husband was telling her off for being online, I suppose jejeje.
Super star Vicente told us all about the happening, he actually got the THIRD place in that competion, I am very impressed, Vicente, and he told us about the meeting.
Feliz , unlike Chris, has a Christmas tree, I think Chris should have one too, don't you agree? I am sure his dogs would love one:Feliz
Feliz asked for Samdie, Sam, you should be online more often![]()
If you are online, you will be added, just be there
Spain, 12 midnight.

It was so funny yesterday, l loved the fact that Gary has three villages in his house, well mini ones as he says ![]()
Vicente's story was really nice, he got the third place which is really nice, he also met some really important people there, and they kept waiting just for him! ![]()
Thank you Heidi for organizing the chat, it was great. l hope everybody joins us next time, as it's really nice to hear so many different Spanish accents being spoken at the same time. ![]()

Ianta hung on until 3:30 her time. This was a really good chat, her Spanish is fantastic. My wife loves to decorate and she sets up these tiny little villages which I tried to speak about so everyone thought I was crazy. Well that is nothing new I guess
Thanks of course to Heidi for holding this all together.
PS: Mica was the one who brought this chat about but computer problems kept him away. ¡Lo siento Mica!
After going out and having some beers with my friends (I discovered a new British ale), I had a great time on Skype yesterday! What I liked most is that you learn but in a very enjoyable and not "teacher-like" way, as the session was more like a conversation and not a lesson. What helped me a lot was Heidi's encouragement to speak in Spanish, while I was trying to find excuses for not doing so
.
Congratulations to Vicente, the third place is a big achievement, I wish him to have many more successes in his life. I was impressed by lovely's Spanish, I knew that her accent was good, but I didn't know that she can speak so well. You guys, practice a lot, I have to catch up with you! In the end, I had a nice conversation with Gary and Vicente about volcanos and diving in Hawaii. Lucie your Spanish is great, after all your level is intermediate, but you always can come to Greece for vacations! I suggest next time Paul plays the piano!
Thank you all, I had a very very good time!
I've been having some problems with my laptop so I've not been on line much. If you haven't been to a "Sat-chat" you're missing out on a lot of fun. Just do it!
Glad you all had a good time and I hope to see you soon ![]()
I had to be at work :( I have no access to Skype at work or I would have joined you as it has been fairly quiet, so far, I don't like to say that word too early on as it may tempt fate. I'm off work next Saturday but I have a feeling it is a special day, oh yes Christmas Eve ![]()
I'm really glad you had a good time.
This was a really fun chat, but I suppose I'm biased - I always love these chats!! I always have sooo much fun, and now, I'm never even nervous about speaking Spanish...jejej
Everybody on the chat really did speak really well in Spanish, and I was very impressed with everyone's levels....and it really was a good time, as we learned a lot of different things, even about Christmas customs in different countries...
Of course, my Skype crashed at the very beginning of the conversation - I was sooo mad - I missed the first 30 minutes....
And hopefully Erica will talk to us next time.... ![]()
Thanks again Heidi!!!
Thank you, everybody! That was fun, except for Ianta...of whom I have a bit of jealousy because I don't speak nearly as well as she does! ![]()
Well, I suppose I'm going to have to practice more! Or move to Greece to improve my Spanish!
Special thanks and congratulations to Vicente! I loved hearing about your "competencia" (o concurso) and you were a champ to stay with us for so long! Oh, and can someone tell me what "ni caso" means?
Gracias, amigos! Como siempre, fue un placer!
Heidi is wearing me down about Skype.
She even mentioned the other day that cameras are not used, which really had me laughing. Because in all this time, I have stayed away because I didn't have time to have my hair and makeup done, plus the lighting in my living room is just horrible.

Well I promised her. I think 2012 will be my Skippy year. I would have joined tonight but just returned from playing two sets (musically) with my group for a Christmas Coffee House. The room was filled to maximum capacity, but we had a lot of fun.
Sorry I missed out on all of the fun with you guys!! But I'm glad you all had a nice time. ![]()
Three Christmas Villages Gary?!?!
Is one of those an underwater village? ![]()
It was great, as usual
We had fun and talked about so many different things! and yep, I still can't understand why Chris doesn't have a Christmas tree at home and why he eats PIZZA! on Christmas night... can you believe that? hahah but oh well
quite funny
by the way, I loved this:
[22:04:51] Gary Thuillier...Yesero: Chris va a poner una cinta en los perros
And, did you know that muslims in Egypt celebrate Christmas day as well? (or at least they decorate their houses and stuff for their children) haha Lovely told us a bit of that ... I still find it weird ![]()
I don't really mind whether it's a chat in English or Spanish. I always have a lot of fun with you guys, so everytime I can, I'll be there for ya! ![]()
Even when Heidita left, Gary, Ianta and I continued talking for a while and Ianta told us about a very well-known Greek island, etc
And the same as Heidita .. you guys just need to be on Skippi and that's it! you'll be ADDED.
Don't miss out on these great chats
!
I would like to participate in these chats too! ![]()
So as I understand, these are held every Saturday at midnight Spain's time, right?
Will try to be there/remember next Saturday and every Saturday after that.
Thank you, Heidita, for the Sunday talk (even if this is the Saturday thread), and thank you to Dakie, unMica, Frank (Paco), Gary (Yesero) and Chris for being there and helping me through my first real try. And yes, Heidita, everything you said is correct, and if I am going to learn to talk and not just write, I need to talk, and get over my feeling that I am driving everyone crazy with my struggles. You are the Greatest.
Que divertida! I would to join next week too. How do we join in on the chat.
Yes, we had a wonderful time saturday night with plenty of laughs thanks to Heidi's ability to see the funny side of almost anything

I am still trying to get my head around the size of Gary's home: three large villages in one house. Wow, that must be some mansion! I wouldn't like to imagine the heating bill in the winter!
![]()
Yes, Heidi, I am sure Chris's dogs would like to visit my Christmas tree but I think it would be better for everyone if they stuck to using trees outside
![]()
I was impressed with Ianta's Spanish accent. The Greek accent is definitely an advantage, it gives you a better starting point for learning Spanish because the accents sound quite similar! I remember being impressed with the Greek man we have in Skype - whose name I have forgotten - I think it begins with S. No, Chris, we are not playing I Spy lol

Lovely's Spanish is great and improving all the time!
I really enjoyed chatting with everyone and look foward to the next meeting with great excitement!

"oh well, nevermind" hehe Heidi says that all the time
Oh, but it means something different here:
NI caso = nobody is paying any attention to me!
This is short for: No me hace ni caso.
I know, always exagerating, yesterday everybody was paying attention, well, not all the time, jeje
Spill more beer at the bar whilst talking nonsense to their mates about football.

hey, one speaks so much better with a couple of beers ...cmon, just join us![]()
