¡Las Aventuras de Capitán Irregular!(2)
Hello everyone and welcome to my new thread The Adventures of Captain Irregular. And who on earth is Captain Irregular? Read here!
And so here's how this thread will work. Hopefully every two or three weeks I will post a new adventure. The game? To post a sentence, both in Spanish and English about the Capitan's latest adventure And the rules of my thread..
I will moderate any English used. And for The Captain's Adventures 2 and 3 I have been fortunate enough to enlist the services of two moderators Mariana and Kiwi-Girl . Mariana and Kiwi-Girl will "come and go" as their time permits. So yes, we'd best be on our toes with two moderators keeping an eye on us!
And although it probably seems my threads are somewhat frivolous, the paths they represent in my Spanish language journey are not. To moderate a thread is hard work and time consuming for moderators. Please re-visit your post and make any corrections Mariana or Kiwi-Girl have suggested.
Here are two pictures of the Captain's second "Adventure" and a bit of a story-line to get you guys "off and running".
When you are in Australia never leave your shoes unattended on the ground. If you do there's a better than even chance that some type of creature will crawl inside; make a home and probably become very cross when you try and put your shoes back on.
And yes, here we see The Captain relaxing at his favourite local waterfall blissfully unaware of what has happened with his gum boots. Bizi is there also with his faithful friend and normally, being nocturnal, he would be napping in one of the gum boots. But he just thinks to himself "Clear off you beast!"
Feel free to comment on the situation that the Captain now finds himself in.

Querido diario, Edit:
P.S. Los pies están helados. Cap

Dear Diary,
Unfortunately, I lost my favorite boots this afternoon because a big bug decided to make his house in the left one. I don't like insects! I have to buy new boots, now. Also, I have not finished reading my book for Spanish class. I hope to get a good grade on the test tomorrow. P. S. My feet are freezing.

La Lista de Bizi (Bizi's list)
(A note from 4annie ) I love to "discover" new words and when creating this second adventure I came across these fabulous words and phrases. Of course I haven't listed all meanings for these words and phrases, just how they might be used in the story-line for Adventure 2..
Although my friends I haven't managed to somehow wind these words and phrases into the story-line for Adventure 2 you guys are more than welcome to make use of them.
puncture = el pinchazo
sunstroke = el insolación
rubber boots, Wellington boots ("Wellies") or as we say in Australia "gum boots" = botas de goma
murky water = agua sucia
los pies están helados = my feet are freezing
el cangrejo de río = crayfish or as we say in Australia- a "yabby"
And of course my friends a very useful irregular verb - leer = to read link text

A friend of the Captain (who was relaxing), Terri Turtle, was passing by and said, "No wonder you have insects in your footwear! Why aren't you wearing the new wallies wellies that I gave you for Christmas?" Insects like to have a permanent home, not just a place to stay for the winter.

Okay Annie it is a case of " come in spinner".
The gum boots of the Captain , they have been in the sun for two hours
and have a bad smell . A cockroach was in the boot and is now dead.
the Captains boots are a bad place to live.

Poor Captain irregular was sitting in the sun waiting for his gum boots
to be less smelly , but he forgot to use sun cream and his face is now
a brilliant red colour. We now call him Captain beetroot.

Captain Irregular believes he has seen a crayfish. As he leans over to look into the water, he tips over and now his feet are freezing and his book is soaking wet.
Oops I think Captain Strikeout has struck! No - all good now ![]()
.
All this is very sad for the poor Captain. His book is wet, and the ink is beginning to run; his feet are veritable icicles and he can't even put on his gum boots, because they're full of creepy-crawlies who are quite pleased with their new home.
