Fill in the blanks or translate into Spanish

1) Creo que ___ (ser) Luis Fernando.
Which one is correct, "fue" or "ser"?

2) "We had to wait in line." Is it "Nosotros tuvimos que esperar en fila"? Do we need to change "esperar" into
past tense?

3) "We had to sit in the second row of the theater?"
Do we need to change "sit" into past tense?

Pertains to sentences 2 & 3.

The periphrasis for "to have to" is tener+que+verb infinitive.

Verb infinitives do not reflect, person, mood, or tense (they are impersonal or non-finite forms of the verb). If you changed them into some other form of the verb...say the past or present participle, then you would not be using ...+verb infinitive

In short, do not change to form of the verb after que from the infinitive. Change the form of Tener to show tense, mood, person or aspect (e.g. continuous tense), etc.
