Please explain. I was told different reasons. Some people say use su is when you are saying his or her like: I am his waiter. Soy su mesero. Some people say use su when your referring to an object and use tu for people. Soy tu mesero y tengo su cuenta.

Use “tu” when you are speaking to a friend or a child or anyone you don’t want to show respect. Us su to show respect. For people you don’t know well. For people older than you.
