What is the difference between "a veces" and "algunos veces" ?

I came across both these phrases: "a veces" and "algunos/algunas veces". They both seem to mean "sometimes" but what is the difference?

Examples:

Algunas veces bebo leche por la manaña y a veces bebo jugo de naranja.

A veces hace frío aquí.

Hi:

When you use algunas veces for "sometimes", you kind of say "once in a while" I drink milk; it's sort of a habit; but with "a veces"it's more like "occasionally", less regular and it might not grow into a habit.

You can also find "de vez en cuando" that also means "sometimes" or "every now and then" like due to chance.

But most people will use the three expressions without trying to be so precise because, in the end they're synonyms.

What is the difference between "at times" and "sometimes"? Very little in most contexts.

vez/veces is feminine: algunas veces; not algunos veces
