Hacer una prueba /un examen

Aprobar (o pasar) una prueba/un examen = to pass an exam/test

" Tomar una prueba/un examen " " Presentar una prueba/un examen " Pasar una prueba is "to pass an exam/a test " that is very different and rendir is most an oral argument.

That's a common misconception. I would actually say "pasar el examen".
