Acronym Madness AM

OEA = Spanish acronym for the Organisation of American States – All of them.

Celac = Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y del Caribe – All of the OEA minus the USA and Canada ( first meeting this last week in Caracas. )

I wonder what that is all about – Monroe Doctrine in reverse? Hugo Chavez is a big fan of this.

SPEIIP = Simposio Plurinacional de Educación Intracultural, Intercultural y Plurilingüe - all Bolivians except Europeans / blancos. I know what this is about. Eve Morales is a big fan of this.

Simposio de la Represantes de la Confederación Sindical Única de Trabajadores Campesinos de Bolivia, de la Confederación de Indigenas del Oriente Bolivia, la Confederación de Mujeres Campesinas Bartolina Sisa, la Comunidades Interculturales de Bolivia. - I wonder who that does not include. Acronym? No idea

The official name of Bolivia is now El Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia. How can one have a “Plurinational Nation” ?

I remember Lazarus saying he was not keen on English acronyms ! I am not too keen on the Spanish ones.

You can fool all of the people some of the time - and some of the people all of the time

I wonder if these guys have managed to fool none of the people none of the time.

I guess this post is political - but do you have any comments?

I am not keen on English acronyms nor on Spanish ones, either.

For me, they are the same as doctor's calligraphy. Unintelligible. On purpose.
