¿A qué ....? What does it mean?

Just wondering what ¿a qué .....? or ¿a que....? means when used at the beginning of a sentence - I"m not sure if it should be with the accent or not. smile

Here's a couple of examples that I've come across:

¿A que no te atreves?

¿A que no eres capaz?

¿A que me quieres?

¿A que suena bien?

A Que No Puedes Comer Sólo Una! means: Betcha can’t eat just one smile

A que no te atreves! --- I bet you don't dare

A que no eres capaz! --- I bet you are not able

A que me quieres! --- I bet you want me

A que suena bien! --- I bet sounds good

Actually, "apuesto a que"...like "apuesto a que tienes hambre" apuesto a que estas cansada" and so on. - 00a4c226, Dec 8, 2011
ah great, so actually it's probably the same thing, just abbreviated, do you think? - Kiwi-Girl, Dec 8, 2011

Thanx Hecho, so that would be -a que no..' for 'I bet you can't' but just 'I bet ...' for 'a que'? - Kiwi-Girl, Dec 8, 2011
A que no + verb would mean i bet you can't. A que + verb would mean i bet you can... - Rey_Mysterio, Dec 8, 2011
