Just for general information, in Venezuela, Gaita and Gaitero have a completely different meaning.

In Venezuela "gaita" is a style of popular music that is traditional played for Christmas season. Gaitas come from Zulia state, which is many ways is similar to Texas, being oil rich and full of people who are fiercely proud of their state and traditions.

Gaitero is someone who plays that style of music. It's a lot of fun, and very often the songs are loaded with biting political messages.
