I have been reviewing my "everyday phrases", and thought I would share them with you.

Some of these you may find here in the "phrasebook" some you may not.

These are all taken from everyday speech, not from a book, and are all Spanish of Mexico.

I am not going to suggest that I can define the rules for these, they are what we use here in everyday language. These are the kind of thing you will hear as you move around in the Spanish speaking world ( At least in Mexico)

In my notes these are in no particular order so I just take them as they are in my notebook.

The challenge: post a sentence ( or two) with the expression of your choice and see if you understand and use it correctly- Questions for clarification,

ONE sentence per post, please!

Post in English and Spanish!

1) Un asunto inoportuno..............An off issue.

1a)Una cuestion inapropriada.......An off issue

2) En ese caso...........................If so- in that case.

3) En la mayoría de de los casos........In most cases.

4) En caso de........................In case of...

5) En cualquier caso..............In any case.

6) ¡Ojala!..............................I wish it so.

7) Andale pues.....................Alrighty then !

8) ¡Y que!.............................So what!

9) Hace un rato....................A while ago..

10) Desde entonces.............Since then ever since.

As always, advise me of typos or other errors.

a vote for all answers and most votes gets best answer.

Enjoy!

Does the 'y qué' need an accent and q-marks Paco, I'm just thinking that it sounds like a question I can find it online that way but it might just be another option? - Kiwi-Girl, Dec 4, 2011

Cuando era niña, solía tumbar de mi bicicleta muy a menudo y desde entonces no montar en bicicleta sin casco.

When I was a little girl, I used to fall off my bike a lot and since then I don't ride without a helmet.
