How to translate "shaman" into Spanish
A shaman was a early version of a priest in neolithic times and during the early transition from hunter/gatherer tribes to agricultural communities. He was the chief religious figure of a tribe and was frequently believed to wield magical powers or foertell the future.
The word priest is not a good substitute in this case because it carries connotations of a more recent cultural organization especially after writing first appeared.

The problem is that the dictionary has the Spanish to English translation "cháman" -> "shaman" but does not recognize "shaman" as an English word and thus does not give an English to Spanish translation.. That is how I got caught. Thank for the translation though.
This is a pretty straightforward translation that can be found in most dictionaries, including the one on this site: "chamán"
