"Estimada Monica:" or "Estimada Monica,"
I came across this statement, In Spanish, it is more common to follow the greeting with a colon rather than the comma usually used in English.
Which is more usual:
Estimada Monica: or...... Estimada Monica,
Looking at a couple of official letters I have received, 1 from Banco Santander and another from a book shop I use in Barcelona, both use the comma rather than a colon.
Is there a rule?
Thanks

I don't think so. I guess the use of a comma has displaced the older way of using a colon.
I think that's all.
