Hola,

What is the difference between the two words? Both words mean last, But I understand that there is a difference between last hour and last summer, Hora pasada vs. Último verano.

Gracias

The adjective pasado, made from the past particple of pasar, means (in terms of time or a series) can mean the same as último, when it means last. El año pasado and el año úultimo mean the same. Pasado can also mean next: pasado a un año, next year. U'ltimo is last in a series, as well as in time: Realizó una llamada última, he made a last (or final) call. U'ltimo can also mean the latest, as in "Es la última vez que voy a intentar", it's the last time I'll try. So the meanings overlap, but última has some additional meaning lacking in pasado.

Pasada is not exactly "last". It means "passed". It's used in about the same way.

I could say, this past summer I went to the beach.

By the way, "passed" and "past" are often used the same way, although they are not identical.

Último is literally, "last".
