¡Hola!

Hey there. I'm doing a paper about the influence of baseball in Venezuela, and I want to call it "Play ball!" but I don't know how to say this in Spanish and I can't think of a way to say it without help. I don't know if the phrase is a command or an idiom. I'd love to have your help, and thank you for your time.

Olivia.

I've heard that the anglicized ¡Pleibol! or just Play Ball! is used in Venezuela and Mexico smile

- Gekkosan, Dec 2, 2011

The following link is to a Wordreference forum. The quotes from the forum is

En México gritan, ¡Pleibol!, and

To further show how the expressions of Latino baseball are influenced by Gringo language, note this opinion piece from El universal.com, also cited in the Wordref forum,

Playball!

On the other hand, they don't sing "Sweet Caroline" between innings... :) (Like in Boston - So good! x3) - Jeremias, Dec 2, 2011

I would say:

Jugar al béisbol

If you say "play ball", jugar a la pelota, first thing that comes to mind will be football (soccer)
