"¿Llevaste estas sandalias?" (zapatos de tenis) should be answered with

"No, no llevé estas sandalias. Llevé estos zapatos de tenis."

Did you wear these sandals? (tennis shoes)

No, I did not wear those sandals. I wore these tennis shoes.

No, no llevé esas sandalias. LLevé estos zapatos de tenis.

still having trouble with the right words. Due to the fact that two of the adjective are the same this:that these:that those/over there - kbleu63, Dec 1, 2011
those over there is usually only used where there is also a those. Not esos ibros, pero aquellos libros. Not those, but those over there. Aquellos is not used nearly as much as esos. - 0074b507, Dec 1, 2011

¿Va a comprar ese suéter Gloria? (pantalones)

"No, comprará estos pantalones que traje a colación." That means, No. "She's going to buy the slacks i mentioned." Your companion has no connection to them; they're in your mental field...as if close to you.

Next: ¿Quieres ver esta ropa interior? Okay. If the person is asking "Do you want to see these unmentionables?" s/he is talking about his or her own underwear. So in reply you say, "No. Quiero ver esas medias." That's like saying, "No. I want to see those stockings of yours."

¿Usa aquel traje David? The answer always depends on what you mean. Let's say you're the one answering that question. If you mean, "You see this black jacket here? That's what he wears" you say, as you did: "No, usa esta chaqueta negra." But you might mean the one David wears that he keeps at home, at a distance from your conversation. Then you say "No. Usa aquella chaqueta negra." Or you might even mean that instead of a business suit he wears that black jacket that your companion has seen. In that case, you would use the third possibility: "Usa esa chaqueta negra." And this is rapidly coming into wide use as Spanish is chopped into brevity, anglicized. So the use of ese, eso and esa indicate closeness to the listener's mind. S/he knows what jacket you are talking about, so even though David keeps it at home far away, you tell her "Usa esa chaqueta negra. (Tú sabes cual)." ("You know which one i mean.")

¿Decidió Silvia comprar esas gafas de sol? If she's far away and your listener knows only too well which hat you're talking about, you would say "No. Compró ese sombrero." But then again, you might mean Silvia bought a white Panama straw hat, sombrero de jipijapa, only sold far away in Panama where she's living, and you both have to imagine it. Then you'd say something like this, "No. Ella compró uno de aquellos sombreros que se venden allá." Another example using aquel: "No. Compró aquel sombrero que su hermano chico quería vender para unos centavitos." That is, "Nope. She bought that hat her little brother wanted to sell for a few cents."

It's really EASY. Just relax. These examples have covered all the bases. Trust yourself and focus.

Thanks for asking. Please succeed.

¿Te mostró el vestido aquella vendedora? (dependiente)

Did the seller over there show you the dress? (aquella must be referring to the vendedora. If it referred to the vestido it would be aquello.

No, aquella vendedora no me mostró el vestido. Esa or esta dependiente me mostró el vestido.

I am assuming that there are 3 clerks. One near you, one farther away, and one farthest away. No, the one farthest away did not show me the dress. Either of the other two showed me the dress. Esa or este.

There need not be 3 clerks/sellers. Sometime esto refers to anything near your reach, esa refers to anything in your general vicinity, but out of reach and aquello means far way. So if you have one object near your reach it can be esta and one very far away and be aquello with no esa object around. This one within reach and that one far away. You normally only use aquella when you wish to say that the thing is far away or if you have 3 things to distinguish between. these within my reach, those outside my reach, but close by and those far away.

You need to make sure that the demonstrative adjectives match the noun they're describing in both gender and number. I'm assuming the word in parentheses is supposed to be included in your answer. Don't forget to conjugate the verb according to yourself speaking (yo form)! So, for example:

"¿Llevaste estas sandalias?" (zapatos de tenis) should be answered with

"No, no llevé estas sandalias. Llevé estos zapatos de tenis."

or something like that.
