Hi! I thought this exhibition seemed really interesting, I never heard of anything like this before. People in the past were kidnapped and put in Zoos so that Europeans could see what an African / American / Asian looked like .. It sounds like something from The Onion

They said that maybe a billion people visited these Zoos and that it could have an affect on our psychology to this day.

This was still happening only 100 years ago! Near enough in the past that there are photographs! - rabbitwho, Nov 29, 2011
Wow, I never heard of this before... how horrible! I don't understand how societies could think that way of other humans, even more than a 100 years ago! I hate even seeing animals in zoos! - Gillygaloo, Nov 29, 2011
Wonderful presentation of Yurugu's psychology! - kmaakheru, Nov 29, 2011
Exactly, nowardays it's difficult to go to a zoo and see an animal behind bars without feeling sick, even when I was a child I felt that way, but in the past apparently people had no qualms about seeing fellow humans in the same situation! - rabbitwho, Nov 30, 2011
(Of course some people did, but it seems the general public did not) - rabbitwho, Nov 30, 2011

Hello!

I have never heard about this museum, and tell the truth I was impressed...What inhuman treatment and outrageous cruelty! Instead of help, sympathy and condolence those poor people got just the obligation to entertain crowd of idlers and philistines. I will not wonder if there is such a museum nowadays. I suppose, people have not been changed a lot since, because racism is one of the most intractable problems in our contemporary society.

Very good! I hope you don't mind, I corrected your mistakes. Remember it's "What" with a noun and "how" with an adverb or adjective. E.g. "What a lovely day!" "What bad luck!" but "How terribly they treated those people!" "How awful!" - rabbitwho, Nov 30, 2011
