'bye amigo cuidate mucho' - is this a phrase or a short version of a longer sentence?

Basically it means "Bye friend, take care!"

I'm pretty sure that you know what "Bye" and "amigo" mean wink so that leaves us with the meaning of "cuídate mucho".

"Cuidarse" means "to take care of oneself" so "Cuídate" means "take care of yourself" If you type "cuidar" into the dictionary bar at the top and scroll down and you will see the definition of "cuidarse", and coincidentally the example they give is "Cuídate" wink

"Mucho" means alot, so the whole literal translation is "Bye friend take care of yourself alot!" but of course "Bye friend, take care!" sounds better. smile

Bye shouldn't be in the sentence because it is an English word and not Spanish. - kenwilliams, Nov 29, 2011
