Gratitude Island: the place to come to give thanks

From time to time, we are flooded with gratitude for Spanishdict.com, the moderators, the supportive learning environment here, our friends, the Saturday night Skype chats, the flash cards, video lessons, etc.

We have Encouragement Island for when we need encouragement, but how about a place to come to say "thank you!"

This is the place you can take those good feelings: Gratitude Island.

In your Spanish learning experience, what are you grateful for today? Bring it here and place it on our altar on the beach...

Let's hear it for the watchful eyes of the moderators!!! They do a thankless job, but it's the job that keeps this place going!

My high school Spanish class was taught the old-fashioned way: motivation through fear.

With SpanishDict's great group of motivated students and teachers, the new way of learning has been productive and fun!

I owe a debt of gratitude to everybody who conceived and built this website such as Christopher, Paralee, Martha, Jeremy, and of course some of the users -- like those you can find on "More / Users" and flip through about 6 or 7 pages... smile

Heidita and our corrected thread moderators deserve my special thanks (because only they can send me to the dunce corner - jeje LOL )

Ah, es que o no te gusta el rock, o no conoces a Styx (música de los 80) - Gekkosan, Nov 28, 2011
Fooled me too :) - ian-hill, Nov 28, 2011
Unfortunately, I knew. - JoyceM, Nov 28, 2011
*sigh* Of course, the place is full of youn kids, like Heidita. Long before their time, I guess. :-P - Gekkosan, Nov 29, 2011
I didn't know what it meant, though. Just looked it up and discovered that it's Japanese for: The lyrics translate into English as follows: Thank you very much, Mr. Roboto. Of course. - JoyceM, Nov 29, 2011
Roboto", que decía, entre otras cosas " Thank you very much, Mr. Roboto Until the day (we) meet again ..." - Gekkosan, Nov 30, 2011
Thank you very much, Mr. Roboto I want to know your secret " Y claro, lo decía en japonés también: Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto. - Gekkosan, Nov 30, 2011
Para los viejitos como yo, fue una de esas canciones inolvidables. - Gekkosan, Nov 30, 2011

It's funny, I was just thinking about this. I just finished chatting with my new friend, Maria, and she commented that I speak well for someone who has never had a class or a teacher.

But in fact, SpanishDict has provided me with an army of teachers! I don't think I would have made it this far if it weren't for the knowledge, the humor, the patience and the friendship that I have found here.

So....thank you for the opportunity to say thank you!

Gratitude Island - Joyce what a good idea - but it might have to be the "Gratitude Archipelago" - I seriously think there won't be enough room on one island for all our gratitude wink

To Heidi, Ian, Chris, Vicente, etc etc etc.

Sorry, I have a problem with names but thanks to you all for helping me gain a bit more confidence in spoken Spanish. I passed the course, and I got a B for the oral which was the bit I thought I might fail on.
