Desear Subjunctive help

I know one uses the subjunctive after the verb desear when you wish that someone would do something. However this sentence has stumped me. I have to say in a letter that: I wish to find out if the group would be willing to take part in a programme for local radio station.

So, do I say: Deseo descubrir si el grupo querrían tomar parte en una programa por un radio estación local.

Can anybody help to shine some light on this?

You don;t have to use subjunctive here:

Deseo/quiero saber si el grupo querría (estaría deseoso de) tomar parte en un programa de una estación de radio local.

The verbs in your sentence are perfect. Descubrir is in the infinitive because the subject of desear and descubrir are the same. If you wanted someone else to discover you would say Deseo que + subjunctive.

However, descubrir may not be the best choice here, I think you should use the singular 3rd person for querer, and also the last part could be improved. There are some other little things as well.

How about,

Deseo saber si el grupo querría participar en un programa por la estación local de radio.
