It will depend a lot on where you are:

In Argentina they use the verb 'zapar'. (see the last entry)

In Costa Rica they use the English and have improvised with the verb 'jamear'

Hmmm, so that would mean? I am not familiar with jamming, odd word, jeje, and I am not familiar with the Spanish option "zapar" given eitherwink

Heidii Jamming is a specialist phrase in the music industry among session musicians and professionals meaning to improvise :) - FELIZ77, Nov 26, 2011
It is where you start playing music together but usually without following any written music ie by ear and seeing where it leads you - FELIZ77, Nov 26, 2011
many good compositions have come about through this style of playing Bill Sharpe of Shakatak uses this mthod :) - FELIZ77, Nov 26, 2011
Heidita, think of the expression "jam session" (which has been around for quite a while). - samdie, Nov 26, 2011
That would be "we are jamming"...but said in Jamaican English in which "be" is conjugated differently. - webdunce, Nov 27, 2011
Usually it is referring to a small group of musicians (usually all members of a band) who are playing together without any written music and yet they are sounding very good together. But it can be used to mean other things, too. - webdunce, Nov 27, 2011
