To say 'im trying to get rid of' in spanish, is it 'deshacer de' o 'deshacerme'?

I'm trying to find the proper way to translate, 'im trying to get rid of' in spanish, help please?

There's deshacerse de for getting rid of like throwing away.

You need to get rid of those shoes - you never wear them anymore.

Tienes que deshacerte de esos zapatos; ya nunca te los pones.

There's olvidarse de or obviar for getting rid of, like, not to bother with or not to bother using

Olvídate de la introducción. Get rid of/Don't bother with the introduction.

There's deshacerse de or librarse de as in getting rid of someone

Tengo que librarme de él. I have to get rid of him.

as well as sacarse de encima to get rid of as in make them go away

and in México apparently desafanar a alguien (del grupo) means to get rid of someone too
