ella
Whoa! A hamburger can be ella? I thought only a living "she" could be ella
You learn something everyday.
I believe you're trying to say una hamburguesa, which is a hamburger. If used as a subject, the verb would be conjugated to the third person singular. Subject pronoun is ella.
Yes, come to think of it a question's been bugging me at the back of my head since I started learning Spanish.
What's the Spanish word / equivalent for the word IT?
I am going to assume you are speaking of 'it' as a subject pronoun - because, obviously, 'it' as an object pronoun is 'lo'.
There is no common equivalent for 'IT' as a subject pronoun in spanish. Part of the reason for this is that Spanish is so much less dependent on subject pronouns in general, as the verbs are conjugated so the subject is usually implicit in the verb and the context.
'Ello' is the neuter of equivalent of él and ella... but it is rarely used.

Do we even have a word for inanimate, non-living nouns we call 'IT' in English?
