'Perhaps the next government will learn from Piñera's mistakes' - Translate
Correcto/ or do I need the subjunctive after 'quizás'?

I'd use "aprenderá de", which is the correct literal translation to "learn from". Escarmentar has more of a connotation of "scold and correct" - which is not entirely inappropriate here, for sure, but would require for the original to be something like "learn its lesson after Piñera's mistakes".
