Are 'amanecer' and 'madrugada' the same thing?

I know this exact question was asked before by Richard-Kozicki, but for some reason, there is no actual hyperlink when I hover over it... :-(

If someone can post me the link/or explain it, that would be great.

I know that amanacer can be a verb also , but madrugada is only a noun.

Is there a firefox or Chrome user who will access this entry "Can "amanecer" and "madrugada" be used interchangably?" and remove the double quotation marks from the question window. - Moe, Nov 17, 2011
If the double quotation marks are replaced by italics or bold print, then Internet Explorer users will be able to read the question. - Moe, Nov 17, 2011
Thanks Moe for the info - Peas, Nov 17, 2011

The only way I can translate madrugada is "the wee hours". I am sure there must be a proper term for it but I have never heard of it or I don't remember it at this time.

amanecer = dawn

One big difference is that amanecer can be a verb, and madrugada is only a noun.
