Salía con el. I used to go out with him. Tengo una cita con el está noche. I have a date with him tonight.

Salías con él = You used to go out with him

As kiwi girl rightly says'' salir con'' can mean to go out with or to date wink smile grin

Although Salía is technically correct, too, I have used salías intentionally because it is the familiar form which would be used between friends/peer groups to discuss who was going out with who especially among teenagers lol (You would not normally discuss such matters with people you would address using the polite form eg a boss at work and certainly not a stranger or an older person you don't know well.)

The imperfect indicative tense is used to convey the meaning of used to/was doing in the past (ie:habitual action in the past )

I hope this helps grin wink smile grin
