Help in lesson 1.4 - food regular - er conjugations

Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone could simplify this lesson to me. I have watched it a number of times and I don't seem to be getting it.

In the tables I am unsure what the 1st, 2nd and 3rd person means and also how to use the words and when.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks Jo smile

To expand on jlexen's reply:

1st person= refers to the speaker....I, we (yo, nosotros)

2nd person=refers to the person being addressed.....you, you all (tú, vos, usted, vosotros, ustedes)

3rd person=anybody else or the person being spoken about....he, she, it (él, ella, ello, ellos, ellas)

remember that usted, ustedes (2nd person, formal) take 3rd person verb endings

Regarding your last comment, usted, ustedes.... is there is reason for that or is it just the way it is? - Lise-Laroche, Nov 17, 2011
