I would like to know how to describe the Christmas Giving Tree in Spanish for our bilingual church bulletin.

Wow, now this is one nice thing to do!!!

Hmmm, this does not exist here in Spain but I would suggest this:

Árbol de Navidad de Generosidad

Este año pondremos de nuevo un "Árbol de Navidad de Generosidad" para que todos puedan participar y ayudar a los más necesitados. Rogamos se acerquen al árbol y elijan un "ornamento" y participen el la compra de lo que se pida en cada caso.

The Annual Christmas Giving Tree is a tree that is set up in our parish after Thanksgiving. The tree is adorned with ornaments that have written on them basic household articles such as paper towels, toilet paper, toothpaste, soap, clothes, and toys for needy families in our area. Each year our parishioners generously pick an ornament, purchase what is requested and turn the items in to our rectory, where the items will be packaged and then delivered to the families. I would like to know how to describe the Christmas Giving Tree in Spanish for our bilingual church bulletin.

Yep and they call "Christmas" the "Holiday Season" which I think is "pathetic" - ian-hill, Nov 15, 2011
