"En mi manera" o "a mi manera"?

Both por and a can be used, ie: A / por mi manera de pensar, te va a salir muy cara esta casa.

To / by my way of thinking, this house is going to very expensive for you.

As far as I know, the use of "en mi manera" is restricted to phrases like "en mi manera de ser" where manera just happens to be the first word of a noun phrase.

The phrase "en esta manera" is more common and means "in this manner", but "de esta manera" is actually the correct way to say it--the other probably comes from English.

it's "in my way" and not "to my way" , but "in" is "en" so mtimbes's post doesn't make any sense..

can you solve this?

In this case "pudieran" goes with "me gustaría" and "darme" would be better than "traerme." I´m not a grammar expert, but I have never heard "en" used with "manera" such as in your example. Maybe it´s regional or just direct word-for-word translation - 005faa61, Nov 15, 2011

Ok. I'm afraid Mtimbe's explanation is just not correct.

"A mi manera" just means "my way", as in Frank Sinatra (and it applies to your example above). A mi manera can be a sentence all on its own: "¿Cómo lograste terminar eso?" "A mi manera".

En mi manera must be followed by something else, since it means something closer to "in my view, or according to my method". Eg: En mi manera (de ver las cosas), eso no tiene ningún sentido.

Or, "Ese procedimiento no entra en mi manera de hacer las cosas". Yo prefiero hacerlo a mi manera.

a mi manera-To my way

In my way-The key to this phrase is the "En" which is a Spanish Preposition equivalent to "In" so, En = In

To my way- This time the key preposition is "A' which is the same as "To" in English so, A = To

As far as the meaning of the two,well that differs in what preposition you use."To my way" meaning something is relative to your direction and "In my way" meaning something is in your path of travel. Hope that was helpful!
