I think what Quentin was illustrating was that quite often you'll find your very question answered multiple times before so it pays to do a search - Kiwi-Girl, Nov 12, 2011
- you can do this by clicking the 'search' tab just under the 'ask a question' green tab. Welcome to the forum :) - Kiwi-Girl, Nov 12, 2011

Donde means "where" and adonde means "to where".

¿Dónde está la playa? Where is the beach?

¿Adonde te gustaría ir para bailar? To where would you like to go to dance?

I grew up in a Celtic speaking area and if we lost something we would ask " where to is it " , which is quite similar. - ray76, Nov 12, 2011
