I think the months were set in 45 BC with the Julian calendar, although names have changed, but how they wrote the dates I don't know. I would guess they were numbering years AD by then as well. - Stadt, Nov 10, 2011

If someone could be born on 11/11/11 they would never have to worry about how to write their birthday correctly no matter what country they are in and not matter whether it is cultural to put the month or the day or the day or the month first.
