"Quisiera" + name of the food you are ordering = "I would like __________"
For example: "Quisiera una ensalada con aderezo leve, por favor" = "I would like a salad with light dressing, please."
also you could say
"Me gustaría + food, etc. = "I would like __________"
ex. "Me gustaría un cafecito con leche" / I would like a coffee with cream"
the verb "to like/ to be pleasing to" gustar conjugated in the conditional form carries the same meaning"
I use "Quisiera" a lot.
Hope that helps!
Check this link it may be helpful to you.It will take you through the entire process.
You could also say and I have used this in Spain when I was ordering food in Barcelona:
¿Podría traerme ................ por favor?
Could you bring me ..............please?
pe.j: ¿Podría traerme espaghetti bolonesa, y una cerveza, por favor?
= Could you bring me Spaghetti Bolognaise, and a beer, please?
Having said this me gustaría ....o quisiera........ are both very well understood words/phrases and accepted as a polite/courteous way to order food at a restaurant in Spain.
I hope this helps
