What is a good way to test my skills in Spanish? I've been studding it for 2 years now and I don't know how to get a good gauge on what I know.

A short Spanish proficiency test

Spanish proficiency test 2

In depth language proficiency scale

Video recordings of natives speaking (with text and translation)

Grammar test

Spanish texts levels A1 - C2 (Beginner to advanced)

You could watch the videos and read the text to see how much you understand. =) The proficiency tests are also a good way to see where you are with grammar (and sometimes listening).

Also, have you ever thought about doing a language exchange with a native speaker? You can probably find someone at lenguajero.com.

Get on netflix and watch some movies, telenovelas, or kid shows. That will give you an idea of comprehension. Also, just spend some time on here reading questions and responses. After a little time, you will have been able to guage your level as well as improved you Spanish.

Ok, to me there are several way in which you can test your abilities and you have to understand that you will excel in some and do poorly on others. That's in general until you really take on the language in which all of these abilities begin to level...

writing skills speaking skills listening skills

and you can be fluent or not in any of these regardless of your proficiency, until you level all of those when you take on the language at whatever level.

Do I make sense?

As had been said before, watch spanish tv and movies and maybe even go to spain and see if you can hold a sufficient conversation. Also, try to talk to your freinds in spanish and see how far you get. What I do is since my father works in construction and one of his workers is spanish, I speak to him in Spanish when we are working-

The only problem is now my dad can't understand us!!
