I used cornmeal to make cornbread. It's not ground as finely.

"Harina de maíz" works in both cases.

To specify corn flour, you might qualify the term by saying "harina fina"

You might find the following wikipedia articles helpful

Harina de maíz

Cornbread

Almidón de maíz - is the fine white powdery cornflour that you use to thicken things in a clear sauce like in making Chinese food.

Chuchoca - is the word used in Chile for what you make yellow cornbread out of but I agree with the other answers that in some countries it is harina de maíz.

chuchoca o polenta que es lo mismo para corn flour. - chileno, Nov 5, 2011
Cornflour in the USA is a white fine powder that cooks into a clear sauce. I buy Lider chuchoca & it's yellow and just right for cornbread. - katydew, Nov 6, 2011
