Could please someone explain to me what happens when I push the green accept button under an answer to any of my questions?

Si, eso es la pura verdad, es como dice gfreed. The first time I used SD I was so delighted to get an answer at all I pressed the green button in gratutude. The End. With more experience of this site I've realized you get many more interesting answers if you wait and see. Sometimes I answer questions, just because it's an interesting question, or, I feel sorry for person who didn't get an answer.. This is not really a recipe for good answers. But, I have noticed that if one person answeres, others jump in, with improvements. A good example is a question a few days ago about some sugary confection for halloweeen. I had no idea, but I made an answer. After some time, knowledgable people corrected me. If the person had accepted my poor answer they would have been in dunces corner for ever. red face

Your account disappears and you are lost somewhere in the Dunce Corner for all time.

It just marks with a green check. However, if you accept an answer, most people will assume that you are looking for more answers to your question. It is not the same as closing a question, which only admins can do.

Did you mean to say?...if you accept an answer, most people will assume that you are "not" looking for more answers to your question - 0074b507, Nov 4, 2011
