Help with Medical Spanish Questions "¿Hace cuánto tiempo se le acabó los medicamentos?"

Soy (nueva!) interprete de español (específicamente por la salud mental) y tengo dificultades con unas frases que los doctores les dicen a los pacientes.

Si sabes las respuestas correctas (o unas sugerencias ), por favor, ¡ayúdame!

I am a (new!) spanish interpreter (specifically for mental health) and I am having difficulties with some phrases that doctors say to patients.

If you know the correct responses (o any suggestions ) please, help me!

1) How long have you been taking your medicine?

mis intentos:

a.¿Cuánto tiempo lleva tomando los medicamentos?

b.¿Hace cuánto tiempo tiene tomando los medicamentos?

c. ¿Hace cuánto tiempo está sin medicamentos?

d.¿Hace cuánto tiempo ha estado sin medicamentos?

e.¿Cuánto tiempo ha estado tomando los medicamentos?

For 2, I would just use a.

Medicine doesn´t end anything; it just runs out.

ps. those were supposed to be possible translations of question # 2) When did you run out of your medicine Do they make sense?

¿Cuánto tiempo ha estado tomando los medicamentos?

These two are the best of your collection.

To use hacer, the structure needs to be a little different, ie: ¿Cuánto hace que ya no toma su medicamento?

I agree but I believe you can switch the construction "¿Cuánto (tiempo) hace que.........." to "Hace cuánto tiempo que" - jeezzle, Nov 3, 2011

e.¿Cuánto tiempo ha estado tomando los medicamentos? (know this last two look/sound the most grammatically correct...but I don't think the pluperfect/past perfect ("ha estado") is correct to use because the action is still currently going on...?)

2) When did you run out of your medicine?

b. ¿Cuándo terminó los medicamentos? (this just doesn't seem right to me)
