esta bien ya me cayo
one of my friends told me this phrase. She thought I should have spent my vacation visiting her in Mexico, but I chose to visit Peru instead.

It is really complicated to understand something with incorrect spelling, as you can see very proficient speakers have answered here, but none has guessed the right answer:
cayo = callo
"You choose the wrong country!!!........... está bien ya me callo!!"
Ok, Ok, I am going to shut up! I am not going to say another word...
Our dictionary contains a few possible contexts. No punctuation, but I am assuming the Está bien is its own sentence.
Is she saying that "she has already dropped it or moved on"? or is she saying that now she understands (caer en cuenta) or even the context of visitar (drop in) or that she is downhearted. (caerse)?
Esta bien would mean that's OK
Caerse means to fall, but is often used to say I like you. For example Me cae bien a ti. Translated is I fall well to you. Meaning I like you.
Ya means already.
You chose the wrong country, but it's OK, I already like you.
If it helps, the actual post and punctuation said; "You choose the wrong country!!!........... esta bien ya me cayo!!"
