for these modern rural mexico nostalgia ethnographic documentary videos, we will appreciate help with subtitling transcriptions and translations of the little speech of the village comisario

Tecalpulco Ganaderos http://youtu.be/iqyia6zrHD0

filmed February 2009, music by the (young) Banda La Rancherita

does anybody know what to call this style of music? In advance, thank you.

Bravooo!

All right, someone else can take it up from there... wink

As for the music, personally I call it "an enthusiastic but unholy mess".

Although this is not one, the general level of musicianship illustrates why the traditional bugle and drum bands that are found throughout Mexico - and that keep you from taking your afternoon siesta as they practice in the plaza in the afternoons - are called "Una banda de guerra." Muy divertido Martin.

Jeje that music just about had me rolling on the floor, especially the way the clarinet? player brushed out of the way the trombonists slide and proceeded to darle caña grin It could pass for classic Monty Python.

I've seen parades in Mexico where EVERY school in the region marched, primario, secondario, etc. Hundreds of bands, a 3 hour parade, each with their banner and banda de guerra. Usually just drums and trumpets. - Jeremias, Nov 2, 2011

Thank you for the transcription. And those commentaries on the band are amusing!

That was the young Banda La Rancherita at the Cattleman's get together at El

Negro's house in February 2009; this was a few hours before the start of a rodeo.

http://youtu.be/aKM00171JtM here is how they sound on the 16th september 2011
