Pop up translator doesn't work for me! (update: it's now working! thanks to our mods)

Hi everybody!

Lately (and since that toolbar thing was removed) l noticed that when l click on any word the translation doesn't pop up like it used to do :(

l tried so many times but the little box didn't pop up, l really liked this function and it's much easier than having to copy the word, go to the dictionary, paste it, and then wait till it loads.

Is anybody else having the same trouble, or is the problem in my server?

Please let me know, thank you smile

I have no need for the toolbar, but, the ads are driving me mad! - annierats, Oct 31, 2011
I don't look at them Annie - auto "blank-out" - ian-hill, Oct 31, 2011
But they take 30 secs to load up and are full of orange bread. I feel sick. - annierats, Nov 1, 2011

I have noticed that too, Lovely. Thank you for figuring this out. I used to just use the dictionary. I guess that is the best way. The translators haven't been working for ages for me. My computer is giving me trouble. I thought it was that. And I have found that problem with the advertisements where the screen goes black is very annoying. Thanks for bringing this up.

I have never had the toolbar offer itself . If I want a word translated, I write it in the box. However, I will then suffer 35 seconds whilst a film trailer loads up and blacks out my entire screen. Only once the film starts can I click on it to go away. By this time I have found the word in my Collins Dictionary ( a book, without adverts.) This problem is causing me to search for other sites, with less, or, preferably no adverts. I hate the black out whole screen! it comes up anywhere the mouse goes near the top of the scren... I nowadays try to avoid the top like mad!

l see your point very annoying, lucky for me l don't have those, but there used to be a function whenever you double click on any word a small box with the translations pops up next to it, but now it's not working properly. - 00b6f46c, Oct 31, 2011
I recommend a dictionary. Slower, but reliable and without adverts for bread. - annierats, Nov 1, 2011
I totally agree. This has been a problem this whole week. It is really annoying. - sanlee, Nov 1, 2011
I will never, ever buy Warburtons bread, even if I could find it here. - annierats, Nov 2, 2011

Yes, I've been noticing this for about a week now. It seems to work every once in a while, but very randomly. Annoying.

I have found that this feature works on the page, but only twice - after the second time, double clicking on the word no longer brings up its definition.

I use Mozilla.....

I was just talking with Heidi - and she said the exact same thing - it worked twice for her too - and then stopped.....

Not working for me either, or at least only occasionally. I use Chrome if that is any help.

Typically, you can double click a word to see it's translation. I just gave it a try and it worked in Chrome. Perhaps it is a browser issue?

It only works once or twice in a page, but then try clicking on other words and it won't translate anything. - 00b6f46c, Oct 31, 2011

And I thought it was just me.

I'm finding that double-clicking a word sometimes works the first time, on a page, then fails for the rest of my time on that page. As if it runs out of gas. smile

Alright, I may as well get in on this too. I am using IE to write this message on my desktop and also trying it on my laptops in Firefox. At this moment none of them are giving the translation after the first try.
