What term could be used for "scavenger hunt"?

I want to tell the students to complete a scavenger hunt. Does that transate or should I just call it "Busqueda de cosas" or "Caza de basura" etc.

Since it´s not necessarily trash they would be looking for, I would say "La caza de sobras."

Mamahouse, this is a very multicultural site. Could you explain what you mean by scavenger hunt? I live in England, and to me, this sounds horrible. It is impossible to translate things of which you have no understanding...
