Are all the spanish tenses used?

I think I remember Heidi saying that some tenses are not used anymore, but I cannot find it. Does anyone remember that conversation? Are there some tenses that are not used? Or maybe not used a lot? Or maybe rarely used.

In the subjunctive mood the future (hablare) and future perfect (hubiere hablado) tenses are only used in classic literature and legal documents.

In the indicative mood the pertérito anterior (e.g. hubo hablado) is not used as much as the pluscuamperfecto (había hablado)

El pretérito anterior está cayendo en desuso hoy en día y probablemente usted nunca oiga este tiempo si visita un país de habla hispana. Ha sido prácticamente sustituido por el pretérito pluscuamperfecto.

Quentin already answered it, both tenses mentioned are not used any more, I don't think we ever use preterito anterior any more.

Look at Lazarus's answer here, he only mentions the tenses we actually use, with sample sentenceswink

Fantastic link Heidita, thank you! Lazarus has such a talent for explaining things in such a simple but complete way. Where is he these days by the way? - billygoat, Oct 31, 2011
